The Aluto is Factor’s gravel multi-tool. Engineered for riders who prioritize speed, responsiveness, and all-day comfort over extreme off-road capability. It’s positioned as a more generalist alternative to the aero-focused Ostro Gravel, offering a balanced geometry and thoughtful integration for modern gravel racing and adventure riding.
⚙️ Key Features
- Balanced Geometry: Designed around 45 mm tires (with a rear max of 47 mm), the Aluto features a slacker head tube angle and lower bottom bracket than the Ostro Gravel, resulting in a more stable and adaptable ride.
- Sharp Handling: Despite its wider tire clearance, the Aluto maintains nimble, road-like handling thanks to its minimal fork design and tuned carbon layup.
- Functional Integration: Includes downtube storage for tools and essentials, full internal cable routing, and compatibility with electronic drivetrains only.
- 1x and 2x Drivetrain Options: Riders can choose setups based on terrain and riding style — 2x for road/light gravel, 1x for more rugged adventures.
- Lightweight Design: Shares tube shapes with Factor’s climbing and road bikes (O2 and Monza), making it visually sleek and performance-oriented.
🛣 Ride Experience
When heading out of town on pavement, the Aluto feels more like a high-end road bike than a full on gravel machine, even with 45c tires. It really shines on the smooth gravel and rough pavement you’ll find on our long mixed-surface rides in the Upper Valley. While it may lack the extreme tire clearance of some competitors, it delivers a lively, fatigue-resistant ride ideal for generalist gravel riders.
The geometry and layup result in a bike that can really slice and dice the gravel descents, handling more like a road race bike as you flick it in and out of corners while the tire clearance and layup mute any unwanted surface feedback. The two factors result in a bike that really begs for as much speed as you can give it.
